This workshop emphasises the critical role that representations play in accessing the abstract world of mathematics. More specifically, the session aims to increase awareness of the different types of number lines recommended in the syllabus, and of the conceptual complexity of these mathematical diagrams. The difficulties that children encounter will be highlighted, and some teaching strategies discussed. Come prepared to informally share your experiences.
